Robert M. Baptiste is co-founder and principal of Baptiste & Wilder, P.C.  Prior to entering into private practice, Mr. Baptiste served as the Associate General Counsel to the Eastern Conference of Teamsters.  In 1974, he became the General Counsel to the International Brotherhood of Teamsters where he served with distinction until 1985. As a union-side labor attorney, Mr. Baptiste has dedicated his career to fighting for the rights of working men and women.

Mr. Baptiste’s practice encompasses all aspects of labor relations, including litigation, arbitration and contract negotiations in federal and state courts.  He has appeared before the NLRB, EEOC and the U.S. Department of Labor representing plaintiffs in wrongful termination, employment discrimination and retaliation.  Mr. Baptiste's versatility and breadth of experience is evident in his approach to resolving complex issues.  Over the years, Mr. Baptiste has litigated a number of high profile cases resulting in landmark decisions.  He is a nationally known negotiator of collective bargaining agreements and has participated in a multitude of major contract settlements and negotiations in the service, industrial and transportation sectors.  Mr. Baptiste is also highly regarded for his fair and effective representation in negotiating severance agreements and compensation packages for executives and professionals.  Whether the issues involve traditional labor or individual employee rights, Mr. Baptiste brings an in-depth knowledge and unparalleled passion to representing his clients.

Mr. Baptiste frequently speaks at seminars and conferences throughout the country on a wide range of labor and employment issues.
